Named after the concrete boat ramp that they helped to place & finish with Alan Davis at his new “Texada Island Boat Yard; the band sometimes likes to relax in the sun down by the concrete beach.
Husband and wife duo Darren & Amber Bourne lead with vocals, percussion & keyboards. This funky blues, rhythm & rock inspired group is made possible with help from the local talents of Dave Hull (guitar) & Doug “Buffalo” Saunders (bass). New residents of VanAnda, Darren & Amber have toured much of Canada in their own bands.
Darren, formerly of bands “Interstellar Root Cellar” and “Mocking Shadows,” has shared the stage with The Platters, Buddy Guy, Fred Eaglesmith & Bruce Conte (Tower of Power) as well as opened for ZZ Top, Spirit of the West, Fishbone and many more.
Amber, fronting her Calgary funk band URBANdivide, has shared the stage with Kool & the Gang and Antibalas; and has also opened for Colin James, Randy Bachman, Great Big Sea, Jully Black, and 54/40 to name a few. Together they bring some high energy tunes to Texada with help from their new local musical friends.
