Andrea was born and raised in the Kamloops/Shuswap. This cowgirl and wanderer has had a few careers as a certified guide outfitter and farrier, a Registered Massage Therapist and a music teacher. She received her Music Degree in 2011 and has produced three albums of original music. “First Tracks” in 2001, “Sweet Embrace” in 2006 and “Transition” in 2013.
She has received a total of eight Vancouver Island Music Award nominations. In 2007 she won Female Songwriter of the year. Her album “Sweet Embrace” also took home producer (Pat Coleman) and Engineer (Rick Salt) of the year.
In 2014 her album “Transition” received two nominations ; Roots Song and Pop/Rock Song of the year. Her music video “Moonlight Shine” was nominated for video of the year.
In 2005 She won first place in the songwriting category at the Shuswap Lakes International Writers Festival.
She has been fortunate in sharing the stage with great jazz musicians including Don Thompson, Pat Coleman and Phil Dwyer. She is not entirely a jazz musician though, her rock and country roots have a strong presence in her songwriting and choice of cover songs.
Her songwriting is a soulful blend of southern fried blues, jazz and country rock.
She performs on the Island and mainland, writes songs and teaches music in Nanaimo, Parksville and Qualicum Bay. Her newest album “Transition” was released in April 2013.
